Elizabeth Endler

Chief Scientist – Energy Storage & Integration, Shell

Elizabeth Endler currently serves as the Chief Scientist – Energy Storage & Integration at Shell, based in Houston, TX.  In this role, she provides strategic leadership in the development of technologies and business opportunities for the energy transition.  Her current research interests focus on ways to accelerate decarbonization through electrification, including novel energy storage systems and devices; integrated energy networks, system flexibility and sector coupling for energy carriers; and design, optimization, operation and control of electrified distributed resources and manufacturing processes.  She has nearly two decades of experience in industrial R&D, including work in fundamental research, product development & technology commercialization, project development and valuation, venture capital investing, and mergers and acquisitions support.  A chemical engineer by training, Elizabeth holds a BS from the University of South Carolina and a PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
